Background
In addition to being an independent college consultant, I am a college professor of philosophy, specializing in ethics. I began teaching twenty years ago, while I was a graduate student at Cambridge University. Since then I have taught thousands of students at a range of different colleges and universities, both in the U.S. and abroad. I primarily teach ethics classes, challenging students to think through who they are, what they value, and why. Working closely with students on their writing, I help them become articulate in expressing their thoughts and values. In addition to teaching, I have more than ten years of experience advising students, first as an academic advisor to college students and more recently as an independent college consultant for high school students.
